Overview

In the science and business of biotechnology, the right equipment can make the difference between a breakthrough and a failure. The Missouri Biotechnology Association (MOBIO) has the tools to help the state's bioscience industry -- and your business -- reach its full potential.

MOBIO is one of the most effective regional industry associations in Missouri. Our close working relationships with local, state and federal government officials and with national organizations such as the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO), extend MOBIO's reach and resources far beyond the borders of Missouri. Within the biotechnology community, we encourage communication and collaboration between researchers and businesses. Through our programs and services, MOBIO has created a network for the biotechnology industry's enhancement and development. All members of MOBIO, no matter what their size or line of business, are entitled to the same benefits. Just one of these benefits can exceed the cost of membership!

To join MOBIO now, please see our PDF Membership Application.

Legislative Advocacy

MOBIO supports public policies that foster the growth of medical technology and biotechnology industries in the state of Missouri. MOBIO advocates legislation that supports medical and agricultural research and facilitates the spin-off of research discoveries that advance the health and welfare of the general public. MOBIO maintains an active presence, with its executive director and respected lobbyist, Kelly Gillespie, in Jefferson City to ensure that the needs of the industry are at the forefront of Missouri's legislative agenda.

Networking and Educational Events

Scheduled regularly throughout the year, MOBIO events bring biotechnology professionals together to learn about the latest industry trends, discuss pressing issues, make deals and find solutions.

See our events page for more information.

Publications

Information is power, so we give our members plenty of it with a variety of publications:

  • Each member company, upon request, receives a free copy of MOBIO's Membership Directory.
  • MOBIO Progress, our monthly e-newsletter, contains updates on association and member activities, and highlights industry news and event information.
  • The association also periodically publishes and distributes surveys, guides and industry studies to educate and inform those outside the biotechnology industry.
