John Sagartz

Dr. John E. Sagartz received his BS and DVM degrees from Kansas State University, followed by additional residency and research training at The Ohio State University, culminating in board certification by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists and awarding of his PhD. Dr. Sagartz' career in the pharmaceutical industry began at Searle in Skokie, IL, followed by re-location to St. Louis, where he helped establish an exploratory preclinical development department integrating various scientific disciplines, including toxicology, pathology, ADME-PK, and pharmaceutics. At Pharmacia, Dr. Sagartz was a Science Fellow and was honored by receiving the prestigious W.E. Upjohn Award in 2001.  Dr. Sagartz left Pfizer to co-found Seventh Wave in the autumn of 2003. Dr. Sagartz has over 20 publications in peer-reviewed journals spanning both natural and experimental disease, and frequently serves as a reviewer for scientific journals. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Society of Toxicologic Pathology, Society of Toxicology, American Society for Investigative Pathology and a member and Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists
