Gary Clapp
Gary E. Clapp, Ph.D. President / CEO of the Institute for Industrial and Applied Life Sciences, Executive Director – Missouri Innovation Center located at MWSU. Gary received his undergraduate degree in chemistry and mathematics from Minnesota State University, Mankato in 1984 and his Ph.D. from Oregon State University in 1990.
For the past 20 years Dr Clapp has been involved with many operational activities of growing independent businesses performing laboratory testing as well as research and development in support of human and animal pharmaceutical drug development.
Dr Clapp has been an active member of the American Chemical Society (ACS) for 25 years and has served as an officer in the Kansas City section for the past 11 years acting as Treasurer, Vice-Chairman and Chairman. Dr Clapp has also served as an invited technical reviewer on numerous National Institute of Health (NIH) technical evaluation committees. In addition, he serves on the St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors as well as the Heartland Foundation Board of Directors. Dr Clapp is a board member for MOBIO (Missouri Biotechnology Association and is the Chairman of the Board for SCOPE (Science and Citizens Organized for Purpose and Exploration).
