Missouri Biotechnology Association Board of Directors - 2012

Dale Ludwig

Dale R. Ludwig serves as executive director/CEO of the Missouri Soybean Association (MSA), the Missouri Soybean Merchandising Council (MSMC) and the Mid-America Research and Development Foundation (MARDF).  Mr. Ludwig oversees promotion and research activities supported by the soybean checkoff. He also directs dues-funded membership activities for thousands of Missouri’s soybean farmers.

Before coming to the soybean office, Mr. Ludwig worked in the agribusiness marketing and communications industry with Monsanto and Cargill.

Mr. Ludwig is currently president of the Missouri Dairy Growth Council, past chairman of the Missouri-4-H Foundation, and chairman emeritus of the Missouri Biotechnology Association (MOBIO).

A graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia (MU) with degrees in animal science and agricultural economics, Mr. Ludwig has served as president of the MU Alumni. Previously, he was president of the MU Ag Alumni as well as president of the Missouri Ag Research Council (MARC).

Mr. Ludwig also completed the Missouri Chamber of Commerce Leadership Missouri program and the Agricultural Leadership of Tomorrow (ALOT) program and served as president of the St. Louis Agri-Business Club.

Mr. Ludwig is the first ever recipient of the MU Tiger Pride Award. He also received recognition as MU’s College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources Alumnus of the Year. Mr. Ludwig was recognized by the St. Louis Agri-Business Club as Ag Leader of the Year.  He also received the 2007 Agribusiness Leader of the Year award from the National AgriMarketing Association.

Mr. Ludwig owns and operates farms in southeast and central Missouri, consisting of soybeans, corn and wheat, as well as a beef herd. He and his wife, Rhonda, reside near Linn, Mo., with their three children, Trent, Claire and Troy.
